Persicaria microcephala Red Dragon
I love this herbaceous, clump forming perennial for it's remarkable foliage, amazing pointed leaves in various shades of maroon-burgandy-red and green, with red stems. It has small creamy white insignificant flowers. It tends to flop as the stems get long, so I trim it back once or twice in the growing season when necessary. In my garden the frost blackens its foliage but it shoots away again come spring. Likes part shade and well-drained soil. Reaches 1m x 1m.
